How does it work?
Our Pigmentation Peel is a professional strength peel with strong depigmenting action used to treat skin hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma. The treatment consists of 2 phases: An ‘in-clinic’ phase and an ‘at-home’ phase.
IN CLINIC PHASE:
STEP 1
Your initial doctor consultation will be to diagnose the cause or causes of your skin hyperpigmentation and assess your suitability for the Peel Programme. Please note: This is a very important step, because you many not be suitable for the Programme. Your doctor can suggest suitable alternatives if you are unsuitable for the Peel.
If you are suitable to start the Peel Programme you will be sent home with the Depigmentation kit, which you need to use for a minimum of 2 weeks to fully prep you skin prior to the Peel to ensure optimal absorption and results.
STEP 2 (OPTIONAL STEP)
After using the Depigmentation Kit for a minimum of 2 weeks you will attend the clinic to have a Prep peel. This must be applied 2 weeks prior to the Pigmentation Peel.
STEP 3
The Pigmentation Peel will be applied by your doctor and left on your skin for 6 to 8 hours. You will be given a 3 month supply of the Home Pack which has products to remove any remaining hyperpigmentation and to maintain results.
AT HOME PHASE:
For Optimal depigmentation results you will need to use the Home Pack for a minimum of 6 months.
You will have a minimum of 3 free in-person consultations with your doctor to monitor the results of the peel and optimise your treatment.
The treatment programme has dual action being both corrective and regulatory. The corrective aspect of the treatment is performed by the peel which removes the superficial layer of hyperpigmented skin. The regulatory action is performed by the ‘at-home’ treatment which downregulates pigment production, therefore it is important to strictly adhere to the ‘at-home treatment’

FAQs
+ - What will happen during my consultation?
The ‘in-clinic’ phase of the treatment involves your medical history being taken and a pre-treatment assessment of your skin by the doctor to determine suitability for the treatment. If suitable the peel will be applied, then your doctor will discuss the ‘at-home’ phase of the treatment which needs to be adhered to for 6 months
+ - Is the treatment painful?
As part of the treatment the skin is renewed gradually in a controlled manner. After application of the treatment your skin may feel sensitive, and you are likely to see mild redness of your skin and feel warmth. These symptoms should resolve within 48 hours. You are also likely to experience peeling/flaking of your skin. The doctor will discuss the components of the ‘at-home’ treatment that will help these symptoms
+ - When will I start to see results?
You will start to see a significant change a 1 week after the peel has been applied. In addition to a reduction in skin hyperpigmentation the peel will also improve the texture of your skin
+ - Is it okay if I do not use the ‘at-home’ treatment for the full 4 months?
If you want to see optimal results, we strongly suggest that you continue the treatment for the full 6 months. This is because the treatment works in 2 ways which are both critical. The peel works by removing the superficial layers of skin with hyperpigmentation whilst the at home treatment regulates overproduction of melanin
+ - How long will results last?
Months to years. After the treatment your skin hyperpigmentation will reduce significantly. However, in areas where there has been skin hyperpigmentation there is always a possibility of reappearance especially if high quality sunscreen protection is not used correctly all year round. Your doctor will discuss how to prevent this in more detail during your consultation
+ - What are the side effects?
The main side effects are skin sensitivity, redness and flaking/peeling
+ - What is the aftercare advice?
For optimal results and to prevent rapid recurrence of skin hyperpigmentation it is critical to use high quality sunscreen all year round. Your doctor will discuss this in more detail during you consultation
